Genus: Danio Jordan
Body compressed, abdomen rounded, mouth anterior (superior), lower jaw with a symphyseal knob. 10 – 19 rays in dorsal fin. Dorsal fin inserted far back with its posterior half placed above anal fin. 9. Danio cf. assamila (Kullander, 1998) Synonyms: None Diagnosis: Dorsal fin rays 2/9-11, Anal 3/14-15, pectoral 1/10-11. Lateral line complete, dorsal fin inserted at highest point of dorsum, slightly posterior to half distance from snout to caudal fin base. This species is distinguished from D. dangila in having a round or oval shaped cleithral spot as opposed to vertically extended in D. dangila. Common name: Not known in Bhutan |
