Robust perennial 80-125cm tall. It is distinguished from other Eastern Himalayan Allium species in being taller, hollow rounded stems, narrowly cylindrical bulbs, whitish tepals with dark median stripes and much exserted white filaments with blue-grey anthers.
Habitat: By the edges of streams, wet gravel, running water, in open grasslands and Rhododendron/ Juniper scrub
